Pediatric, Adolescent, and Adult Foregut Symposium (PAAFIS)

PAAFIS 2019 header

PAAFIS is an interdisciplinary forum on foregut disease from birth to adults. It brings together surgeons, gastroenterologists, pediatricians, therapists, as well as patients and caregivers, providing a platform for comprehensive care on all aspects of the human foregut.

This year's symposium focused on Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) and featured a hands-on endoscopic workshop on foregut endoscopy, dilatation and stent placement.  Attendees discussed complex cases, complications, as well as clinical and experimental studies concerning the foregut.  A highlight is the PAAFIS robotic championship held on a robotic Simulator.

Main Topics of PAAFIS 2019

  • Eosinophilic Esophagitis
  • Esophageal motility
  • Esophageal and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy
  • Stricture dilatation, stent placement
