The Department of Pediatrics' Young Investigator Award Program is designed to provide highly talented, fourth-year fellows with financial and mentoring support toward developing an academic career focused on clinical, translational, or basic research. The goal is to enhance research productivity without the distraction of significant clinical responsibility, and to assist the fellow in preparing for submission of a successful, national-level "K award," or the equivalent. The award provides support for one year of research-dedicated time for selected fellows, enabling them to finalize an ongoing research project.
The call for applications from second-year fellows will be sent out on May 1, 2018, with applications due on June 30, 2018. Upon successful completion of a third year of fellowship, the program start date for rising fourth year fellows will be July 1, 2019, and support will continue through June 30, 2020.
