The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking a senior faculty pediatric cardiologist to serve as Outpatient/Ambulatory Director. The Director will lead the growth of our ambulatory program by expanding patient care activities at existing sites and developing new outpatient practice locations within the Weill Cornell network at Komansky Children’s Hospital-Weill Cornell Medicine.
We are seeking a strategic and driven leader to oversee the growth and development of outpatient pediatric cardiology services. This role involves expanding patient access by increasing clinic session capacity, launching new ambulatory practice sites, and enhancing operational efficiency in collaboration with division and hospital leadership. The successful candidate will report directly to the Medical Director and play a key role in shaping the future of pediatric cardiology care delivery.
Performance will be measured by growth in outpatient sessions, increased patient volume, and the successful establishment of new practice locations. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pediatric cardiac care in a dynamic and expanding healthcare environment.
The successful candidate will be appointed under the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and will work at our Upper East Side, Lower Manhattan, and satellite locations as needed. In addition, the successful candidate may be covering our general pediatric cardiology and NICU/nursery service in Lower Manhattan 1-2 days a week.
The pediatric cardiac program at Weill Cornell Medicine is an integral part of the Children’s Heart Center of New York-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP), which is one of the largest pediatric cardiac programs in the country. Our world-renowned surgeons operate at New York Presbyterian - Weill Cornell Medical Center, as well as Columbia University Medical Center.
Candidates must be board certified in Pediatric Cardiology and have advanced expertise in all aspects of pediatric cardiology. Physicians with this level of training are expected to be able to perform independently, care for patients with all forms of congenital and acquired pediatric heart disease, and to supervise and train others.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; specialize in general pediatric cardiology; and have an interest in working in an academic medical center and expanding access to care through growth of outpatient sites for pediatric cardiology practices. Applicants require an MD/DO degree, must be board certified in Pediatrics, board certified in Pediatric Cardiology and eligible for New York State licensure.
Salary Range:
Salary and academic rank at Weill Cornell Medical College will be commensurate with experience and credentials.
