Pediatric Cardiology Research

Our faculty are leading important research efforts that encompass many aspects of congenital heart disease in children. Topics that have been a major focus of our investigators, or which are currently under investigation, include the following:

  • Outcomes and adverse events of cardiac catheterization in children and young adults

  • Risk adjustment for congenital cardiac catheterization

  • Evaluation of transcatheter devices for congenital catheterization

  • Echocardiographic simulation as a training tool

  • Cardiac response to exercise in patients with congenital heart disease

The Kühn and Liu Lab is also advancing innovative research focused on regenerating infant hearts. Their work aims to develop therapies that enable the heart muscle to heal itself and restore normal cardiac function, reducing the need for heart transplantation.
