The Department of Pediatrics, in partnership with the Weill Cornell Medicine Office of Diversity and Inclusion, seeks to advance health equity, workforce diversity and inclusion excellence.

Our mission is to cultivate a learning and work environment where:

•  All members can thrive and succeed regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, geographic background, socioeconomic strata, cultures, and racial/ethnicity.

•  Equity and inclusion excellence is prioritized for all members of the pediatric community and people we serve.

•  Diversity is recognized as a means of facilitating culturally responsive and equitable care and social justice across our department and community.

We strive to cultivate a team that has the knowledge of health impacts of institutional and societal forces, markets, and health care delivery systems necessary to comprehensively care for diverse pediatric patients, caregivers and the communities they come from.

We develop initiatives that address diversity and promote inclusion at the medical student, resident, and faculty level.

We are committed to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the Pediatrics community.

We seek to facilitate increased diversity within our programs to better reflect the communities we serve.

We recruit residents and fellows with an eye toward retaining the best of our trainees as faculty.
