We are pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie Wilson-Taylor M.D. as Director of Pediatric Residency Program as of August 8, 2022. In this new role, Dr. Wilson-Taylor will lead the pediatric residency program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center working closely with the associate program directors, the chief residents, and department leadership.
Dr. Wilson-Taylor is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an assistant attending pediatrician at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and previously the associate pediatric residency director at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
After earning a B.A. from Yale, Dr. Wilson-Taylor received her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medicine and then completed her residency training at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and was chief resident. She then joined our faculty in General Academic Pediatrics for 7 years until 2015. During that time, Dr. Wilson-Taylor completed the Weill Cornell Healthcare Leadership Fellowship in 2014 and was the Associate Medical Director on HT5 pediatric practice from 2012-15. In addition, she was involved with multiple QI initiatives and received a community pediatric training initiative grand to start the Health City Kids program with Dr Alison Gorman, as well as multiple CTSC community engagement seed funding grants to support work in our community focused on nutrition and exercise. She left WCM in 2015 to join a private practice in Brooklyn and we were very happy when we were able to recruit her back in 2020. Since returning, Melanie has been very active in community outreach, DEI initiatives and residency education.
