Tamanna Chandak , M.D.

Tamanna grew up in the coastal city of Calicut, India. She graduated from Madras Medical College, India, and completed her pediatrics residency training at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, NJ. She joined the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Program at Weill Cornell Medicine in 2023. Tamanna is actively involved in clinical and translational research at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, focusing on sleep medicine and pediatric respiratory care. As a co-investigator, she is studying circadian disruption in idiopathic hypersomnia using core body temperature monitoring and exploring gut microbiome profiles in affected patients. She also leads a quality improvement initiative aimed at optimizing initial albuterol dosing in pediatric asthma admissions to enhance care standardization and clinical outcomes. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, adventure sports, cooking comfort food at home, and spending time with her family.

Martha Pichardo Gonzalez , M.D.

Martha was born and raised in Mexico City. She received her medical degree from Anáhuac University followed by a residency in pediatrics at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She joined the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship Program at Weill Cornell Medicine in 2024. She has a special interest in bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and has contributed to research exploring how early neonatal nutrition influences sphingolipid metabolic pathways in preterm infants. Her work aims to better understand how nutritional factors impact lung development, inflammation, and the risk of BPD. Martha is an animal lover and enjoys dog training. A passionate foodie, she loves exploring the city and discovering new dining spots. She enjoys traveling with her family and has a keen interest in skincare and fashion.

Yusra Usman, M.D.

Yusra grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, where she completed her medical training at Ziauddin Medical College. She then made her way to New York for residency at Nassau University Medical Center, where she was honored as Resident of the Year in her first year. She later served as Chief Resident in her third year, before joining Weill Cornell Medicine Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship Program in 2025. Outside of medicine, Yusra fully embraces all that New York City has to offer, whether that means tracking down hidden food gems, wandering through cozy, artsy neighborhood shops, or trying something new just for the adventure of it. She loves painting as a creative escape, enjoys long drives filled with unapologetically loud sing-alongs to old-school songs, and never turns down a good game night with friends and family.
