Anu Bakare-Okpala, M.D.

Anu was born in Lagos, Nigeria but moved to New York at the age of 6. She attended Johns Hopkins for her undergraduate studies, SUNY Downstate for medical school and completed the first 2 years of her Ped-Neuro Residency/ here at Cornell! Anu’s interests/hobbies include reading (fav authors include Toni Morrison, Chinua Achebe and Elechi Amadi), eating whatever her husband cooks, and travel! Her biggest recent accomplishment was simply continuing to serve her patients through a global pandemic even in the midst of uncertainty.

Stephanie Fukui, M.D.

Stephanie grew up in Denver, CO. She completed her undergraduate studies at Miami University in Ohio and attended medical school at the University of Colorado. After falling in love with New York during residency interviews, she was fortunate to match into the child neurology program at Weill Cornell. She has enjoyed working with wonderful colleagues from the child neurology, pediatrics, and adult neurology departments over the past three years. After residency, she is interested in pursuing epilepsy/EEG fellowship training. Outside of medicine, Stephanie likes to spend as much time as possible with her husband Trevor (an emergency medicine resident) and their St. Bernard puppy Ella. During the winter, she also loves to skate at outdoor ice rinks around NYC since she used to figure skate competitively.

Shama Khan, M.D.

Shama grew up in Queens, NY and went to Barnard College, where she studied economics, and then went to medical school at Drexel University. She matched to Child Neurology at Cornell and spent the last two years immersed in Pediatrics. During her free time, she enjoys going on walks through Central Park, reading, hiking, crocheting, and trying new restaurants and desserts around the city.

Angie grew up in Orlando, FL and went to college and medical school at the University of Central Florida. She is interested in pursuing epilepsy for her subspecialty. During her free time, she enjoys painting, going to art museums, walking in central park, traveling when she can, watching movies, and reading!

Radha Sathanayagam, M.D.

Radha was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. After attending undergrad at Vanderbilt University, she went on to get her MD at Downstate COM in Brooklyn, NY. She is so happy to stay in NYC for residency and is interested in general pediatric neurology as well as headaches, genetics, and epilepsy. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends/family/peds coresidents, binge-watching TV, exercising, and going to Central Park.
