Joshua was born in Riverdale, NY and grew up about an hour north in Ridgefield, CT. He attended Wheaton College, a liberal arts college in Massachusetts where he was a member of the men's tennis team. After college, he completed a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Columbia University and went on to medical school at Stony Brook University. Prior to medical school he worked for 2 years as a full-time research coordinator at the University of Southern California in the department of pulmonary and critical care medicine. After medical school Joshua moved back to Los Angeles to complete his pediatric residency training at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). In his free time, Joshua loves to ski and play tennis. He also loves to cook and explore new restaurants.
Amir is from Potomac, MD. He attended Undergrad at the University of Virginia and completed medical school at Rush Medical College. He completed his residency at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago where he stayed for an additional Chief Resident year. When not in the hospital, Amir enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog and exploring the local restaurant scene. He is very much looking forward to exploring everything that New York City has to offer.
Joanna grew up in Media, PA. She decided to become a cardiologist after working in the Penn State Artificial Heart lab as an undergraduate studying bioengineering. She completed medical school at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Pediatrics residency at Columbia University / Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. She has published her research at the national level in the fields of Pediatric Literacy Promotion and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing. When not in the hospital or clinic, she can be found running in Central Park or trying to find the city's best bagel.
Devika is from Clifton, NJ. She attended New York Medical College and completed her Pediatrics training at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. Her major accomplishments include her research year during residency where she had the opportunity to study evaluation of heart transplant rejection using MRI vs endomyocardial biopsy. Devika’s interests outside of medicine include baking and cooking, hiking, and running with her dog, Charlie.
Stephen hails from beautiful San Luis Obispo, on the Central Coast of California. He went to medical school at Loma Linda University and completed his Pediatrics Residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Outside of medicine, Stephen enjoys baseball (big Oakland A’s fan), volleyball, board games, and playing guitar. He is also a bit of a movie guy, who is always game for trivia night.
Jillian grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, a suburb outside of Washington DC. She studied biology and computer science at the University of Virginia before obtaining her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University. As a medical student, she focused on education, where she helped design a curriculum for hands-on anatomy sessions for middle/high school students and led health education sessions at the local juvenile detention center. She completed her residency at NYP-Columbia, where she continued her focus on medical education by co-creating a pre-clinical clerkship program for medical students and co-leading resident mock code sessions. Her research during this time focused on long-term outcomes in pediatric heart transplants. She gave oral presentations on her research at the ISHLT annual meeting and won the best abstract award at the Leonard Steinfeld Pediatric Cardiology Research Symposium. Outside of medicine, her interests include violin, piano, dancing, singing, hiking, and watercolor painting.
Sophia grew up in Jericho, NY. After completing undergraduate at California Institute of Technology and medical school at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, she completed her residency at NYP Weill Cornell. Sophia enjoys traveling, cooking, baking and learning guitar.
Luv was born and raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA, where his parents still currently reside. He attended college at Emory University and medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. He made the move up north to NYC and completed his Pediatrics Residency at NYU. Luv is excited to learn all about the field that has excited his pursuits for quite some time. Outside of medicine, Luv enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing sports, rooting (often
hopelessly) for the Atlanta Braves/Falcons/Hawks, and trying new beers and local breweries.
Will grew up in Northern Virginia, obtaining his undergraduate degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. He came to New York for medical school where he attended the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University. There he was selected as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He attended Pediatric Residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia and following graduation stayed as a house physician in the CHONY Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit before starting Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship. He enjoys fine art and painting as well as watching his favorite NFL team the Green Bay Packers.
Tamar was born in Woodmere, NY. She attended medical school at New York Medical College. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. Outside of medicine, Tamar enjoys making jewelry, going to museums, and hiking.
