The Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at Weill Cornell Medicine / Komansky Children’s Hospital is excited to recruit a full-time (1.0 FTE) pediatric palliative care physician to join our interdisciplinary team. Academic rank at the time of appointment will be commensurate with experience and credentials.
About Us
The Weill Cornell / Komansky PACT is dedicated to relieving suffering and enhancing quality of life for children with serious illness and their families. Our team includes full-time physicians, a nurse practitioner, and a chaplain, working in close collaboration with pediatric social workers, child life specialists, art and music therapists, and other interdisciplinary colleagues throughout the institution.
We provide compassionate, evidence-based palliative care to a diverse pediatric population across inpatient settings, including the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, medical/surgical units, and the pediatric burn unit. We also have an expanding footprint in the palliative care and bereavement spaces, and regularly partner with local hospice agencies to facilitate seamless transitions home.
In addition to clinical care, PACT is deeply engaged in education and scholarship. Our team contributes to the teaching of medical students, pediatric residents, and subspecialty fellows. PACT is committed to advancing pediatric palliative care through academic initiatives, scholarship, and national/international presentations.
The ideal candidate:
- Holds an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
- Is board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
- Has excellent communication skills and thrives in collaborative, team-based care
- Brings strong clinical expertise in symptom management, including pain and non-pain symptoms
- Is enthusiastic about teaching primary palliative care skills across all levels of learners
- Demonstrates interest in scholarship, quality improvement, research and/or education
- Is excited to contribute to program development and the growth of our interdisciplinary team
Salary Range
$200,000 - $220,000
*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when hired for NYC Offices
