The Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Pediatrics seeks a clinical developmental psychologist to join an interdisciplinary team of clinicians dedicated to supporting the health and development of young children who have been discharged from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The psychologist will evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for developmental, emotional, and behavioral conditions in infants and toddlers with an increased likelihood of exhibiting developmental differences due to early medical complexities. The psychologist will collaborate with families, schools, and other healthcare professionals to assess and develop treatment plans aimed at supporting the child's overall well-being and achieving developmental milestones.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct developmental assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and possible group therapy.
- Provide developmental consultation to interdisciplinary team members to inform comprehensive care plans for children.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, nurse practitioners, occupational and physical therapists, nutritionists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals; monitor progress, and educate families on child development and support strategies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, research endeavors, and continuing education.
Education:
Essential qualifications include a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and a valid state license.
Experience:
Desired experience includes conducting Bayley and Weschler exams, familiarity with various therapeutic techniques such as CBT, and a background in collaborating with educational institutions or community organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience working with infants and children, a strong understanding of child development, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of psychological testing and therapeutic techniques. Key skills include the ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning.
Salary Range
- Minimum/Maximum Salary: $140,000-$150,000
