The Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Pediatrics seeks a pediatric psychologist to join the Section of Pediatric Mental Health. This role will be dually focused on launching a new school-based mental health collaboration as well as providing psychological care to children and families facing acute and chronic medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide short-term therapy services to students referred from a school-based mental health collaboration
- Collaborate with schools to develop and deliver parent education and professional community trainings
- Provide short-term behavioral medicine services to children with medical illnesses referred from pediatric subspecialty groups (i.e., Neurology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology)
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, research endeavors, and continuing education.
Education:
Essential qualifications include a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and a valid state license.
Experience:
Desired experience includes a background in CBT and behavioral pain management modalities; experience working with a variety of pediatric medical subspecialties.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience working with children, adolescents, and parents, knowledge of school-based systems of care, and excellent communication and presentation skills. Key abilities include working independently and collaboratively, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning.
Salary
- Minimum/Maximum Salary: $140,000-$150,000
