Pediatric Asthma Program of WCM and NYPQ

The Pediatric Asthma Program of WCM and NYPQ is a collaborative effort between NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell and the Asthma Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. Our program provides comprehensive, family-centered asthma care to children who have a higher risk of asthma-related complications. We strive to improve access to care and the coordination of care between clinical settings, clinical sites and providers.

Our program utilizes a multi and interdisciplinary approach that allows us to share best practices, data, and community resources to provide top quality, state-of-the-art care to pediatric asthma patients. We offer individualized asthma education, community-based resources, and support materials to help families manage their child's asthma.

Our team of asthma experts, educators, specialists, and health workers work closely together to ensure that every child receives the best care possible. We provide lung function testing and allergy testing to help us understand what is triggering a child's asthma and how to avoid those allergens. Our certified asthma educators provide patients with one-on-one teaching sessions to develop and support their individualized asthma action plan. We also offer assessments to track how well a patient's medication is working and make recommendations that are specific to their needs. In addition, our program offers home and environmental assessments and supplies bed and pillow covers to patients and families.
