The Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Pediatrics and the Drukier Institute for Children’s Health is holding the third annual Pediatric Research Day in order to highlight research conducted by faculty, fellows, residents, graduate students, postdocs, medical students, and other researchers working in the Department of Pediatrics or collaborating departments and institutions. Fellows and senior residents are required to present during this event.
This event aims to celebrate the depth and breadth of the research performed in the Department and Institute, to foster collaborations across research teams and between faculty and trainees, and will demonstrate that research contributes personally and collectively to the goal of advancing care for children. Further, the event will aim at fostering mentoring and networking relationships across career levels and between the College and affiliated institutions.
Individuals are invited to submit abstracts for poster and oral presentation, for which there will be four sessions throughout the day. Each accepted abstract will be provided to attendees in a digital abstract publication. Posters catagories are divided into basic science, translational research, clinical research, education, health services and healthcare policy, quality and improvement and other. Posters will be judged by a panel of experts in their respective fields, and an award for outstanding poster will be presented.
A plenary talk will be provided by the invited guest speaker, Dr. Joshua Milner, Director of the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology, Chief of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology Services and Professor of Pediatrics at New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children Hospital, Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Milner is a leader in the field of discovery and immunopathogenesis of genetic diseases that lead to allergic symptoms.
